The total assets of these enterprises amount to RMB 1.5 billion and the gross year output exceeds 100 million pieces, consuming over 40 thousand tons’ yarns. The industry employs more than 70 thousand workers, including 20 thousand non-locals. In 2002, the industry achieved the year sales turnover of RMB 2.5 billion, the export shipment of RMB2.3 billion, the profits tax of RMB 300 million and the tax payment of RMB 100 million.
