Trend Forums and comprehensive seminar programme keep industry up to date

Three textile industry events take place concurrently

A new era begins this week as Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2015 opens in a brand-new venue with a record number of exhibitors participating. Over 2,600 suppliers from 24 countries and regions (2014: 1,469) will take part in the biggest ever Spring Edition from 18 – 20 March at a brand-new venue: the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The world’s largest fairground hosts its first Messe Frankfurt fair across more than 100,000 sqm, with international fabric exhibitors located in the International Zone (hall 7.2), domestic suppliers in halls 7.1, 8.1 and 8.2, and Chinese and overseas accessories exhibitors in the East Hall.

Europe will once again be well represented at the fair in the ever-popular SalonEurope (hall 7.2). Around 180 suppliers of premium fabrics and accessories will be housed in this area – including 11 trend forecasters – which also includes the Milano Unica Pavilion from Italy, the Portugal Pavilion, the Germany zone, and the France and Premium Wool zones which make their debut appearance at the Spring Edition.

The diversity that Asia has to offer will also be on display in country and region pavilions from Japan, Korea, Pakistan and Taiwan, as well as the Texprocil Pavilion from India. And for the first time at an Intertextile fair, the Origin Africa Pavilion from Kenya will be present. Also within hall 7.2 is the Verve for Design zone which doubles in size compared to the 2014 spring fair. This area features design studios from Australia, France, Hong Kong, Italy and the UK displaying their creative and original fabric pattern designs. While Verve for Design returns to the fair this year, the All About Sustainability debuts there after its popularity at last October’s Autumn Edition. This zone is in response to increased interest on sustainability in the industry, especially from China in recent years.

Chinese exhibitors meanwhile are located in halls 7.1, 8.1 and 8.2, and are grouped together by product end-use. Shirting, casual wear and suiting fabrics can be found in hall 7.1, ladieswear and lingerie & swimwear suppliers are situated in hall 8.1, while functional wear exhibitors are in hall 8.2. Also in this hall is the Beyond Denim area.

Trend Forums and comprehensive seminar programme keep industry up to date

This year’s fringe programme will once again keep the industry up to date on the latest trends, market information and more. Four international and Chinese Trend Forums provide guidance for next season’s trends, with the Intertextile Directions Trend Forum (hall 7.2) designed by experts from the around the world, and the Fabrics China Trend Forums focusing on menswear (hall 7.1), ladieswear (hall 8.1) and colours (hall 8.1).

A series of seminars is also held from 18 – 20 March, with speakers from both China and abroad. Topics include Design and Trends, Technology, Sustainability Issues, and Market Information and Business Strategies.

Three textile industry events take place concurrently

Three concurrent textile industry events also take place at the same venue. Yarn Expo Spring, PH Value (previously known as the China International Knitting Trade Fair) and CHIC, the 23rd China International Fashion Fair, will also run from 18 – 20 March.

Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition 2015 is co-organised by  the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; the China Textile Information Centre and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd.
